I have heard that Universal/Motown/Hip-O Select are planning a series of killer Motown re-issues (loaded with bonus tracks no doubt). But this seems more like a rough guide. Motown sources state the following infomation on upcoming releases...
Michael Jackson's HELLO WORLD: The Solo Albums (3CD) is set for a March 2009 release date.
The Marvelettes' FOREVER: COMPLETE MOTOWN ALBUMS, Vol. 1 (3CD) is set for a March 2009 release date.
The Miracles' DEPEND ON ME: THE EARLY ALBUMS (2 CD) is set for a March 2009 release date.

MOTOWN AROUND THE WORLD: THE CLASSIC SINGLES & MORE (2CD) is set for a June 2009 release date.
THE FOLLOWING IS ALL HEARSAY...
A second Temptations DVD is set for a 16th March release date.
Stevie Wonder's COMPLETE 60's ALBUMS, Vol. 2 is set for a 6th April release date.
The Isley Brothers' double CD Motown ANTHOLOGY is set for a 6th April release date.
The Complete Motown Singles, Vol. 12: 1972 is set for a 13th April release date.
The Spinners' ESSENTIAL is set for a 4th May release date.
Edwin Starr's ESSENTIAL is set for a 4th May release date.
Junior Walker & The All Star's ESSENTIAL is set for a 4th May release date.
Stevie Wonder's COMPLETE 60's ALBUMS, Vol. 3 is set for a 15th June release date.
Diana Ross' LADY SINGS THE BLUES is set for a 3rd August release date.
Marvin Gaye's TROUBLE MAN is set for a 17th August release date.
The Marvelettes' ANTHOLOGY is set for a 28th September release date.
But we probably won't know what we actually are going to get until they arrive. It is always a surprise. Let's just hope all of these releases plus a few more surprises see the light of day this year even if the label doesn't stick to the release schedule.
An afternoon filled with My Anthems, Deep Soul, MOTOWN, Sampled Soul, Gospel, Funk, R&B, Northern Soul, '60s C&W plus new stuff. He's left the "Long Dark Night of Soul" for the sunlight of Friday Afternoons 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. on WKDU Philadelphia 91.7 FM. Hey, we still got the weekly Top Ten for all the kitty babies...you know how we do.

Wow... seen some similar predictions on the Motown 50 site. It's a bit of a shame that Hip-o select don't really give advance warning of most of their releases until a week or so before actual release. Even worse that they only made 6, 000 of the 1966 box set- man I wish I had got that so much. If they release half of this stuff I'd be a happy man. Mostly looking to completing my Stevie Wonder albums collection, being able to get the Marvelettes and those rare Supremes and Miracles albums- notably Meet the Supremes, Reflections and Mickey's Monkey. The Isley set looks promising- they announced it last year on Motown UK but that site has fallen into disrepair- could it be that they've joined forces on projects? I doubt Hip-O select could do all this on its own. Maybe the Edwin Starr release could bring out his unreleased songs like Don't Look Back. I think I'm gonna be broke by the end of this year... Not going to miss out on any releases as they are bound to be limited.
